A promising collaboration between France and the Netherlands.
France’s Minister of State for Digital Affairs and Innovation, Axelle Lemaire, paid a visit to the Netherlands on 27 January 2017 to meet with and offer her support to the French Tech community. During her visit, Ms Lemaire met with Amsterdam alderperson Kajsa Ollongren, who focuses on the city’s economic development. The minister was impressed by the French Tech initiative’s rapid development. Both politicians expressed their hope that the current exchange between the Dutch and French innovation ecosystems will continue to develop (in line with the exchange agreement established between StartupAmsterdam and Paris&Co in 2016). A number of participants shared their experiences regarding the quality of the French Tech Ticket programme, which offers entrepreneurs the chance to launch an innovative project in France with the help of a mentor programme and funding. France will soon welcome a second round of startups.

CCI France Pays-Bas launched a series of networking events known as Apéri’tech.
Business France announced the Benelux Digital Days, which will take place in the latter half of 2017. In addition, French Tech Amsterdam revealed that it will soon receive its own website and social media networks. Minister Lemaire indicated that cities will be invited to apply for the ‘French Tech Hub’ label before the end of this year; she strongly encouraged French Tech Amsterdam to participate. The next event will take place on 6 April 2017.
